Updated: May 4, 2020

What is microblading? There is no shortage of options to consider when you are looking to get your brows shaped and beautified. However, some treatments become more popular than the rest due to various reasons. With that said, Microblading is arguably the most popular eyebrow treatment among stylish women across the globe. Introduction to Microblading treatment In a nutshell, microblading is a semi-permanent tattoo technique. Unlike other tattoos, Microblading targets your eyebrows only. This technique is used to create the illusion of a nicely shaped, fuller eyebrows. In fact, microblading is used to create any look on any face based on the preference of the receiver and the recommendation of the therapist. The process As the first step, the beautician will observe the face of the client and determine the most appropriate brow shapes for their faces. Also, they will suggest the best color options to go with the natural hair color and the undertone of the skin. Then, the brow area will be cleaned as a preparation for the microblading treatment. To make it more convenient for the client, the treated area will be numbed. Although microblading is more of a tattooing process, no tattoo machine involves in this treatment. Instead, a small handheld tool will be used to tattoo the hair strokes. The entire drawing process is done manually with precision. As the final step, a special ointment will be applied to the treated area so that it will speed up the healing process. The entire process will take about 2 hours or so. However, the duration may vary slightly based on the style and the area covered. In general, the results of a microblading treatment can last for up to three years. However, the lifespan of the microblading can vary depending on the type of skin as well. For instance, ink on oily skin can fade out faster than on dry skin. Also, the client’s lifestyle will affect the lifespan of the treatment. Does microblading have side-effects? Well, as long as you get the treatment from a well-experienced and reputed brow artist, you will not experience any major side-effects. In addition to that, the client can minimize the slightest chances for side-effects simply by following the aftercare procedures as instructed by the therapist. Post-treatment care Your therapist will offer some post-treatment care instructions. You must follow those instructions without fail. In addition to that, as a general post-treatment care, you can use a good sunscreen. As a result of using sunscreen, you will be able to enjoy the treatment for a longer period. Besides, the client should avoid using any Retin-A-based products at least one week before getting the treatment. Also, the client should avoid using those products at least 30 days after the treatment. That is because products based on Retin-A can make those pigments faded away prematurely. Never wash or wet the treated brows until they are completely healed (for about a week or two). Also, never use any makeup on the treated area for about a week at the least. The client can resume her usual makeup routine once the treated area is perfectly healed.
